Remote Work – Registered Nurse accepted only

Reporting to the Sr. Advisor, and Travel Health. Travel Health is promoting, assessing and advising on matters pertaining to delegates and staff health before, during and following
overseas assignments.

Working hours – 08:00 to 05:00 pm

Salary – 52,000$ per year ( around 28.5$ per hour)

Mandate – 4 months mandate starting as soon as possible

Your main responsabilities?

The Advisor, Travel Health contributes towards the People Services Mandate to:

– Oversee and further enhance health and wellbeing systems and follow up for staff and delegates.
– In collaboration with Client teams, pro-actively develop and implement flexible travel health solutions to meet operational needs whilst managing risks and staff wellbeing.

MAIN RESPONSIBLITIES —

Responsibility 1:

-Medical Clearance Process; Under the direction of the Sr, Advisor, Travel Health, Initiates the medical clearance process for overseas travel for staff and delegates.
-Recommends routine immunizations and vaccines required for international travel,depending on the risks identified.
– Reviews health files for completeness, assesses the health status and identifies health risk

Responsibility 2:

– Program and Training Development
–  May be required to support and facilitate IO and/or corporate trainings and programs about health and safety issues and risks.

Responsibility 3:

– Health Promotion and Illness Prevention of Staff and Delegates
– Promotes nursing values to all IO Client teams, such as respect of confidentiality, empathy,mental wellness, etc.
– Ensures a safe and confidential environment to welcome delegates and staff with their health concerns and offer support as needed.
– Educates staff and delegates on travel and humanitarian-related health risks (i.e. tropical diseases, stress management, jet lag, etc.) using internal communication tool, facilitating training and individual communications.

Required Qualifications

– Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN).
– Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing with the College of Nurses
– Minimum of 3 years experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) working with adult populations.
– 3 years of medical/surgical nursing experience is highly preferred.
–  Psychiatric and mental health nursing experience is an asset and highly preferred.
– Minimum one year of experience in travel health administration or immunization is an asset.
– Disability case management or clinical case management is an asset.
– Written and spoken English is required; French is highly preferred and is an asset.
